I’ve been sewing and knitting since I was a little girl. Dressmaking, knitting, needlecraft, art and design have always been part of my world.

So I’m pleased to be able to include knitting patterns and lots of items to make in my book — The Christmas Knitting Bee.

Although it’s a fictional romance set in Edinburgh, I’ve included 40 items that you can knit and sew. The patterns and instructions are at the end of the book. Further details are listed here on the accompanying website.

I’ve made the patterns as easy as possible and many are achievable in a day. I’ve included patterns for a fashion cowl, silver tip wrap, gold stole, silver white muff, vintage cloche hat, bobble hat, wrist warmers, tea cosies and softies, scarves, brooches and necklaces. Knit a snowman, a bumblebee and butterfly softie. Make bows and knitted flower accessories. Knit fairy cake wrist warmers.

I hope you enjoy making some of these. Templates for the brooch/appliqué designs are also included here as a pdf document. When printed on to an A4 sheet of paper all of the patterns are the correct size.
