Make a robin appliqué.
You will need:
Pieces of scrap fabric.
The small robin template.
Fabric glue or fusible webbing.
The small robin template measures approximately 5.5 inches (14cm) by 6 inches (15cm).
Method:
I used the small robin template pattern to cut out the robin.
I cut each part of the robin from a different colour of cotton fabric but kept them within a neutral theme of greys, bramble, browns and moss green tones.
I used a fabric glue stick to adhere the pieces of the robin to a background fabric. I also like to use fusible webbing to attach designs to fabric.
In the photograph I kept the pieces slightly separate, so that you can see how they were cut and fitted together. When you make this don’t leave a gap. Fit the pieces together. You can also embellish the edges with a satin stitch if you wish.
I left the edges plain as the fabric didn’t really fray and I wanted a natural/rustic look to him. I’m going to use this robin appliqué as part of a mini quilt wall hanging.
