Quilt Blocks/Templates

Quilt blocks

You can use these designs to make appliqué quilt blocks for piecing together a quilt. The patterns can be traced, cut out on fabric and used to make various quilt blocks.

The blocks can be mixed and matched with other blocks and pieced together to make small or large quilts.

You can make these from your own fabric stash, using up spare pieces of fabric. Many of the quilt blocks are also available from my fabric collections if you want them already printed on fabric. I’ve designed these so that you can have as many as I can fit on to a yard of fabric, but you can also use the templates to make your own. The templates are featured here.

Tea Quilts

I’ve included tea quilt design examples and templates to make a little cottage, shed and bakery. The tea quilts have a tea theme. Each quilt block has a tea hue or includes teapots, teacups and cakes for an afternoon tea pattern.

My tea quilts are inspired by the colours of various tea blends — elegant grey, warm golds and brown, burnished orange — and from cakes and bakery products. Buttercream and vanilla hues look great with splashes of vibrant cherry, lemon and fondant pink. Cake tones range from pure white icing to raisin, brandy, candied peel, nutmeg and black treacle. The colours blend together beautifully like the teas and cakes they were based on and the quilt blocks look lovely when sewn into quilts.

Here is a link to the cottage, shed and bakery tea quilts.

Appliqué

Use the template patterns to appliqué the shapes on to other things such as table runners, aprons, cushions and bags.

Softies & Pincushions

The templates are also used to make many of the other items such as the robin softie, beehive pincushion, fairy cake pincushion and a large teacup for the mug rug.

Again, you can use your own fabric to create these. If you want the printed fabric version, lots of the designs are available from my collection. I’ve fitted as many as I can on to a yard of fabric.

Fat Quarters and Smaller Pieces of Fabric

I’ve also included some designs on a fat quarter – approx 18 inches (approx 46cm) x approx 22 inches (approx 56cm) and a single sample block 8 inches (20cm) x 8 inches (20cm). The Sewing Bee & Afternoon Tea cottage design, for example, is printed on a sample block of fabric so that you can use it as an individual piece to make into a purse or use as a quilt block.

Paper Patterns

If you would like all of the patterns included here already printed on paper, these are available on a large single roll of paper here from my fabric design collection.
