How to make knitted bows. The large bow measures approximately 5 inches (13cm) x 3 inches (8cm). The small bow measures approximately 3.5 inches (9cm) x 2 inches (5cm).
Silver and white large bow
You will need:
White sparkly double knit yarn.
Fine sparkly silver yarn.
Knitting needles size 4.5mm (UK 7. US 7).
Diamante clip or buckle.
Method:
Cast on 12 stitches using both the yarns together.
Knit rows of garter stitch until the work measures 11 inches (28cm).
Bind off.
With right sides together, sew the ends together.
Turn right sides out.
Tie a piece of yarn around the middle of the bow and pull it tight to create the shape. Secure the ends of the yarn at the back of the bow.
Attach a diamante clip or buckle to the front.
Use to decorate a knitted hat, bag, as a brooch or pinned to match the wrap pattern.
Small White Bow
You will need:
White sparkly double knit yarn.
Knitting needles size 4.5mm (UK 7. US 7).
Diamante clip or buckle.
Method:
Cast on 8 stitches.
Knit rows of garter stitch until the work measures 8 inches (20cm).
Bind off.
With right sides together, sew the ends together.
Turn right sides out.
Create the shape of the bow by tying a piece of yarn around the middle and pulling it tight. Secure the yarn at the back of the bow.
Sew a diamante clip or buckle to the front of the bow.
Use the bow to accessorise clothes, bags and scarves.
