Vintage Wrist Corsage

This wrist corsage is embellished with beads, diamante and ribbon roses. I knitted this in white but it looks great in various colours. These wrist corsages have a vintage style and are beautiful to wear.

Vintage Wrist Corsage 1

I used a knitting dolly to knit a cord to make the flower. The flower measures 3.5 inches (9cm) across.

You will need:

A knitting dolly.
White double knit wool to make the flower.
White baby Aran yarn to make the wrist band.
Knitting needles size 4.5mm (UK 7. US 7).
Diamante.
Silver and crystal effect beads.
2 small white ribbon roses. (I made my own from white ribbon rolled and stitched to create rose heads. The ribbon I used was 3/4 inch (2cm) wide).
White thread.

Method:

Knit the cord using the knitting dolly and the white double knit yarn until it measures 18 inches (46cm).
Bind off. Leave a long tail and use this to sew the flower petals together.
Form the cord into five petals and sew them securely with white wool.
Sew beads and diamante on to the flower to decorate the centre.

Vintage Wrist Corsage 2

(Add a brooch clip or hair clip to the back of the flower if you want to wear it as an accessory).

How to make the wrist band:

Cast on 30 stitches using the knitting needles and white baby Aran yarn.
Knit rows of garter stitch until the work measures approximately 2.5 inches (6.5cm).
Bind off.
With right sides together, sew the ends together to form a wrist band.
Turn right sides out.
Sew the flower on to the wrist band using white yarn. Sew the ribbon roses on to complete the corsage.
