Dazzling with pearl beads, this little appliqué is ideal for those who love cakes and pretty accessories.
The appliqué measures 2.5 inches (6.5cm) x 1 3/4 inches (4.5cm).
You will need:
2 pieces of white felt 3.5 inches (9cm) x 3 inches (7.5cm).
Metallic gold yarn.
Pastel coloured pearl beads.
Confetti cake template (Templates for the brooch/appliqué designs are also included here as a pdf document. When printed on to an A4 sheet of paper all of the patterns are the correct size).
Method:
Use the confetti cake template to draw the outline of the pattern on to one of the pieces of white felt. Sew around the outline with the metallic gold yarn. Use small back stitches or similar embroidery stitches.
Sew the beads on.
Trim around the edges of the cake, cutting away the excess felt. (Leave a small edging of felt).
Cut the other piece of white felt to fit (same size as the front). Sew this on to the back of the appliqué. Use small stitches near the edges of the felt.
The appliqué is ready to use.
