The gold metallic yarn and diamante are great for making a lovely flower brooch.
You will need:
Metallic gold yarn in antique gold or pale gold.
2 circles of white or cream felt 2 inches (5cm) in diameter.
White or cream thread.
9 Crystal beads.
10 Diamante.
Brooch finding.
Flower template. (Templates for the brooch/appliqué designs are also included here as a pdf document. When printed on to an A4 sheet of paper all of the patterns are the correct size).
Method:
Use the flower template to draw the outline of the pattern on to one of the pieces of felt. Sew along the outline with the gold yarn. Use small back stitches or similar embroidery stitches.
Sew the diamante on to the flower petals and the centre. Use white or cream thread.
Sew the crystal beads on to the petals.
Sew the other piece of felt to the back of the brooch. Use small stitches near the edges of the felt.
Attach the finding (the brooch pin) to the back of the brooch (sew or glue it on depending on what type you use).
The flower brooch is ready to wear.
