This can be used as a brooch or as an appliqué to sew on to a top, purse or bag. It measures 2 3/4 inches (7cm) across and 2 3/4 inches (7cm) high.
You will need:
Metallic gold yarn.
2 pieces of white felt 2 3/4 inches (7cm) x 2 3/4 inches (7cm).
White thread.
Assorted beads — crystal and silver.
Diamante.
Brooch finding (brooch pin).
Knitting Bee template. (Templates for the brooch/appliqué designs are also included here as a pdf document. When printed on to an A4 sheet of paper all of the patterns are the correct size).
Method:
Use the knitting bee template to draw the outline of the pattern on to one of the pieces of white felt. Sew around the outline and lettering details with the gold yarn. Use small back stitches or similar embroidery stitches.
Sew crystal and silver beads using white thread around the edges. Sew on the diamante.
Sew the other piece of white felt to the back of the brooch/appliqué.
Attach the finding (the brooch pin) to the back if you want to made a brooch (sew or glue it on depending on what type you use).
