Silver Tip Wrap 4

The wrap is approximately 36 inches (91.5cm) x 20 inches (51cm). It’s knitted using garter stitch (knit stitches, no purl) and large knitting needles so it knits up easily.

You will need:

1 100g ball of soft, white double knit yarn.
1 25g ball of soft metallic silver yarn.
1 50g ball of chunky tinsel yarn. (For the end of the wrap I used a soft, polyester/lurex blend yarn that looks like silver tinsel). I used half the ball and had plenty left for another wrap or other knitting).
Knitting needles size 10mm (UK 000. US 15).

Method:

Cast on 50 stitches using the white yarn.
Knit each row in garter stitch (knit stitches, no purl) until this part of the wrap measures 5 inches (13cm).
Now join in the fine silver yarn. You simply add the silver yarn at the beginning of the next row and knit with both the white and silver yarns together. This is a double–yarn method that creates a wonderful sparkly texture and gives a subtle hint of silver to the white wool.
Knit with the two yarns together until the white/silver mix part of the wrap measures 13 inches (33cm). (This should use up the 25g ball of silver). Change to knitting only with the white now.
Continue knitting with the white yarn until this white part of the wrap measures 13 inches (33cm).
Join in the silver tinsel yarn (the same method as above). Knit with both yarns together (the white and the silver tinsel). Knit until this final part of the wrap measures 5 inches (13cm).
Bind off.
Secure the ends of the yarn and weave the ends of the yarn into the wrap to tidy it off.
